DESCRIPTION
CHEMFIX DAMP FIX is a high-performance Styrene-Acrylic based protective coating specially formulated to provide a durable water-resistant barrier on concrete, cement plaster, masonry and other suitable building surfaces.
It is designed to reduce the penetration of moisture and water through porous construction surfaces and helps protect walls, floors and other building elements from dampness, water-related deterioration and surface moisture.
CHEMFIX DAMP FIX provides excellent adhesion to properly prepared mineral substrates and forms a continuous protective film after application. Its flexible polymeric nature allows it to accommodate minor surface movement and helps maintain the integrity of the protective coating under normal service conditions.
It is suitable for both new construction and renovation projects where protection against dampness and moisture penetration is required.

Application Method
Step 1 – Surface Preparation
The substrate must be structurally sound, clean and free from:
– Dust
– Dirt
– Oil and grease
– Loose particles
– Loose paint
– Cement laitance
– Weak plaster
– Algae, moss or biological growth
Remove all loose and damaged material before application.
Any cracks, holes or damaged areas should be repaired using a suitable repair material before applying CHEMFIX DAMP FIX.

Step 2 – Surface Cleaning
Clean the surface thoroughly using a brush, scraper, water cleaning or other appropriate method.
Allow excessive surface water to drain/evaporate before coating.
The substrate should be in a suitable condition for application and free from standing water.

Step 3 – Primer / First Coat
Where required by the substrate condition or system specification, apply a suitable primer or diluted first coat as recommended by CHEMFIX.
Apply CHEMFIX DAMP FIX uniformly using a brush, roller or suitable spray equipment.
Ensure complete coverage without excessive puddling or uneven build-up.

Step 4 – Second Coat
Allow the first coat to dry adequately.
Apply the second coat perpendicular to the direction of the first coat to improve uniformity and coverage.
Additional coats may be applied where required by the project specification or where higher film build is necessary.

Step 5 – Final Protection / Finishing
After the coating has sufficiently dried and cured, the surface may receive a compatible finishing system where required.
Do not cover the coating with cement plaster, tile adhesive, paint or another coating until adequate drying/curing has been achieved and compatibility has been confirmed.

Recommended Application Sequence
Surface Cleaning → Crack/Defect Repair → Suitable Primer/First Coat → CHEMFIX DAMP FIX First Coat → Drying → Second Coat → Final Finishing

Precautions
– The surface must be properly prepared before application.

– Do not apply over standing water.
– Protect freshly applied coating from rain and direct water exposure until sufficiently dry.
– Avoid application during unsuitable weather conditions.
– Do not over-dilute the product.
– Do not mix with other chemicals unless specifically recommended.
– Avoid excessive coating thickness in a single application.
– Ensure adequate ventilation when applying in enclosed areas.
– Wear suitable gloves, protective clothing and eye protection during handling.
– Avoid prolonged contact with skin and eyes.
