CHEMFIX C30-PCV

HYBRID POLYMER Based Water Reducing & Waterproofing Admixture

CHEMFIX C30-PCV is a high-performance Polycarboxylate Ether (PCE) based water-reducing and waterproofing concrete admixture, specially formulated to improve concrete workability, reduce mixing-water demand and support the production of dense, durable and low-permeability concrete.

Its advanced PCE-based technology helps disperse cement particles efficiently, allowing concrete to achieve improved flow and workability without unnecessarily increasing the water content. Reduced water demand can contribute to a lower water-to-cementitious-material ratio, which is an important factor in achieving higher strength and improved durability when the complete concrete mix design is properly controlled.

Key Advantages:

– PCE-based high-performance water-reducing admixture
– High-range water reduction capability
– Improves concrete workability and flow
– Helps reduce unnecessary mixing water
– Supports low water-to-cementitious-material ratio concrete
– Helps produce denser concrete
– Supports reduced concrete permeability
– Helps improve concrete durability
– Suitable for high-strength concrete
– Improves pumpability and placement
– Helps improve surface finish
– Suitable for structural and waterproof concrete applications
– Can be used in Ready-Mix Concrete and conventional concrete
– Suitable for concrete requiring high workability without adding extra water

  • Applications / Uses:

CHEMFIX C30-PCV is suitable for:

– Ready-Mix Concrete
– High-Strength Concrete
– High-Performance Concrete
– Pumped Concrete
– Structural Concrete
– Foundation Concrete
– Pile Concrete
– Column Concrete
– Beam and Slab Concrete
– Roof Slab Concrete
– Basement Concrete
– Water-retaining structures
– Water-resistant concrete
– Underground concrete structures
– Bridge and infrastructure concrete
– Dense reinforcement areas
– Concrete requiring high flowability
– Low-permeability concrete applications

Suitable for Waterproof Concrete

CHEMFIX C30-PCV is particularly useful where concrete is expected to resist water penetration.

Typical applications include:

Basement → Foundation → Water Tank → Roof Slab → Underground Structure → Water-Retaining Structure

The product helps support waterproof concrete through water reduction, improved cement dispersion and reduced permeability, while proper concrete design, compaction, curing and crack control remain essential.

Typical Dosage

Suggested starting dosage: 0.3%–1.5% by weight of cementitious materials.

The optimum dosage should be determined through laboratory/field trial mixes.

Actual dosage may vary depending on:

– Cement type
– Cement content
– Supplementary cementitious materials
– Aggregate characteristics
– Water quality
– Required slump/flow
– Concrete temperature
– Required strength
– Transportation time
– Other chemical admixtures
– Desired water reduction

Do not establish a final dosage solely from the nominal dosage range. Trial batching is recommended before commercial production.

ASTM C494 notes that admixture performance can vary with cement, pozzolan, aggregates, mixture proportions, batching sequence and other project-specific conditions

Method of Use

CHEMFIX C30-PCV should be accurately measured and introduced into the concrete according to the approved mix design and established batching procedure.

Recommended Procedure

1. Prepare the concrete ingredients according to the approved mix design.
2. Measure CHEMFIX C30-PCV accurately according to the trial-established dosage.
3. Add the admixture to the concrete during the mixing process or through the batching plant’s calibrated dosing system.
4. Allow sufficient mixing to achieve uniform dispersion.
5. Check slump/workability.
6. Verify air content and other relevant fresh-concrete properties where required.
7. Confirm compressive strength and other performance requirements through testing.

For consistent production, the admixture dosing system should be calibrated and monitored regularly.

Compatibility

CHEMFIX C30-PCV can be used with cement-based concrete mixes. However, compatibility should be verified whenever there is a change in:

– Cement source
– Cement type
– Fly ash
– Slag
– Silica fume
– Other supplementary cementitious materials
– Aggregate source
– Other chemical admixtures

When more than one admixture is used, compatibility and addition sequence should be established by trial mixing.

Concrete Quality & Durability

The performance of CHEMFIX C30-PCV depends on the quality of the entire concrete system.

For optimum results:

– Maintain the designed water-to-cementitious-material ratio.
– Avoid uncontrolled addition of water at the job site.
– Ensure proper mixing.
– Provide adequate compaction.
– Maintain proper curing.
– Control construction joints.
– Treat cracks and movement joints appropriately.
– Follow the approved structural concrete mix design.

Reducing permeability is important for durability because highly permeable concrete is more susceptible to penetration of harmful external agents.

Precautions

Precautions

– Use only according to the recommended dosage and approved mix design.
– Do not overdose.
– Excessive dosage may affect setting, workability retention or other concrete properties.
– Do not add uncontrolled water to compensate for changes in workability.
– Conduct a trial mix before use in a new concrete formulation.
– Verify compatibility when using with other admixtures.
– Use appropriate PPE during handling.
– Keep away from children and unauthorized personnel.
