CHEMFIX ANTI-RUST

Product Description

This is Cement based Polymer modified coating for metal surfaces,

CHEMFIX ANTI-RUST is a high-performance anti-corrosion protective coating specially developed to protect steel reinforcement bars, structural steel and other ferrous metal surfaces from rust and corrosion.

It forms a protective layer on the treated metal surface, helping to reduce further corrosion caused by moisture, oxygen and other environmental conditions. It is particularly suitable for construction and repair works where reinforcement steel or structural metal requires long-term corrosion protection.

CHEMFIX ANTI-RUST can be used on cleaned reinforcement bars before concrete repair, structural rehabilitation and other construction applications. It is designed for easy brush or roller application and provides a practical solution for improving the durability of steel components.

.

Uses

CHEMFIX ANTI-RUST is suitable for a wide range of construction and maintenance applications, including:

– Protection of reinforcement steel bars (rebar) from corrosion.
– Protection of exposed steel reinforcement during concrete repair.
– Anti-corrosion coating for structural steel members.
– Protection of steel plates, brackets, frames and fabricated steel components.
– Corrosion protection of metal surfaces in construction and industrial environments.
– Application after rust removal using a suitable rust-removing treatment.
– Repair and rehabilitation of reinforced concrete structures.
– Protection of exposed reinforcement before repair mortar or concrete is applied.
– Maintenance of steel structures exposed to humid or corrosive environments.

Benefits & Advantages

πŸ›‘οΈ Effective Anti-Rust Protection

Provides a protective coating that helps prevent further rust formation and corrosion on properly prepared steel surfaces.

πŸ—οΈ Ideal for Construction & Repair

Especially suitable for exposed reinforcement bars during concrete repair and structural rehabilitation projects.

πŸ’§ Moisture Protection

Helps protect treated metal surfaces from moisture and environmental exposure that can accelerate corrosion.

πŸ–ŒοΈ Easy Application

Can be conveniently applied using a brush, roller or other suitable coating equipment depending on the application.

πŸ”§ Suitable for Different Steel Surfaces

Can be used on reinforcement bars and various ferrous metal surfaces after proper surface preparation.

⏳ Helps Improve Durability

By reducing corrosion of steel reinforcement, the product can contribute to improved durability and service life of repaired structures.

πŸ”¨ Suitable for Repair Works

A practical component of a concrete-repair system where corroded reinforcement needs to be cleaned and protected before reinstatement.

Application Method

Step 1 – Surface Preparation

Remove loose concrete, dust, dirt, grease, oil, loose rust and other contaminants from the steel surface.

For heavily rusted reinforcement, first use CHEMFIX RUST REMOVER or an appropriate mechanical rust-removal method as required.

The steel surface should be thoroughly cleaned and free from loose rust before applying CHEMFIX ANTI-RUST.

Step 2 – Cleaning

After rust removal, clean the steel surface properly and allow it to reach the condition recommended by the product’s technical specification.

Avoid applying the coating over loose rust, oil, grease, dust or other contaminants.

Step 3 – Application

Apply CHEMFIX ANTI-RUST uniformly over the prepared steel surface using a brush, roller or suitable application equipment.

Ensure complete and continuous coverage of the exposed steel surface.

Step 4 – Second Coat

Where required, apply a second coat after the first coat has sufficiently dried.

The second coat should be applied uniformly without excessive build-up or runs.

Step 5 – Repair / Overcoating

After the anti-rust coating has adequately dried and reached the required condition, proceed with the appropriate concrete repair mortar, bonding system or protective coating according to the project specification.

Β«Important: Drying and overcoating time may vary depending on temperature, humidity, coating thickness and site conditions. Always follow the latest CHEMFIX Technical Data Sheet for project-specific requirements.Β»

Compatibility

CHEMFIX ANTI-RUST is intended for use on properly prepared ferrous metal and steel surfaces, including reinforcement bars and structural steel.

Before applying any subsequent repair mortar, concrete, bonding agent or protective coating over CHEMFIX ANTI-RUST, compatibility should be confirmed through the relevant CHEMFIX technical specification or a small trial area.

For complete repair systems, it is recommended to use compatible CHEMFIX construction repair products according to the specific project requirement.

Do not mix CHEMFIX ANTI-RUST directly with cement, concrete, mortar, admixtures or other chemicals unless specifically recommended in the product’s technical documentation.

Precautions

– Keep out of reach of children.
– Use suitable gloves, protective clothing and eye protection during handling and application.
– Avoid prolonged contact with skin and eyes.
– Do not ingest or inhale the product.
– Ensure adequate ventilation during application, particularly in enclosed areas.
– Do not apply over loose rust, oil, grease, dust or contaminated surfaces.
– Do not dilute or mix with other chemicals unless specifically instructed by CHEMFIX.
– Avoid application during rain or when the substrate is unsuitable for coating.
– Protect freshly applied coating from water, rain and contamination until adequately dry.
– Store in the original, tightly closed container.
– Keep away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
– Do not use the product beyond its recommended shelf life.
– In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
